Coro Nuovo’s aim is to be one of Sussex’s premier choirs and we are seeking a Music Director who can take us on the next stage of our journey.

We are a mixed voice choir, coming together for concerts in the Spring, Summer and Christmas with typically four or five rehearsals per concert.  The choir consists of around forty experienced singers; several of whom are semi-professional musicians. See: https://coronuovo.org.uk/about/

We also run an annual programme – the Sussex Young Musician of the Year competition – which offers a bursary for musicians in the age range 18 to 26 who are planning to pursue a career in music. For details of previous competitions see: https://coronuovo.org.uk/sym/.

The ideal candidate for the Coro Nuovo position will have experience and strong abilities in the following areas:

• Challenging and teaching the choir to develop their singing and performance.
• Planning repertoires which will appeal to both choir members and audiences.
• Interested in and supportive of developing the next generation of professional musicians.
• Great organisational skills and making best use of the choir’s rehearsal time.
• A good sense of humour.
