Supporting Young Musicians
The 2018/19 Coro Nuovo Young Musician of the Year Competition and Bursary
Worth £1000, the Bursary is intended to help financially with a student’s musical studies. The winner will also have the opportunity to perform at a future Coro Nuovo concert.
To qualify, applicants must be in the age range 18 to 26 and have a connection with Sussex, for example being born and/or currently or previously living in Sussex. Applicants must also be studying at, or about to study at a recognised music conservatoire.

The final of the 2018/19 Young Musician of the Year take place on Saturday 14th July at 7.15pm. Tickets can be obtained from:

Young Musician of the Year 2016/17
Hannah Corcoran (saxophone) is originally from Brighton and was our inaugural winner of the Coro Nuovo Young Musician Competition. She is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and has just been offered a place at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York.
Young Musician of the Year 2017/18
Gideon Brooks (trumpet) is from Bognor Regis and is in his final year of postgraduate studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is principal trumpet with the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra and is about to go on tour with the European Youth Orchestra this summer.
